BrainSpotting Therapy
Struggling with Anger, Anxiety, or Panic Attacks?
Do you find it hard to focus due to anxiety, or perhaps you have ADHD and need a new way to manage your symptoms? BrainSpotting (BSP) might be the solution you've been looking for.
What is BrainSpotting?
BSP is a body-based, somatic therapy that focuses on how you feel rather than on what you think about your feelings. Unlike traditional talk therapies, BSP doesn't require you to relive past traumas by recounting every detail. Instead, it targets the underlying emotional and physiological responses stored in your body.
How Does It Work?
Accessing Your Primitive Brain:
BSP helps calm the part of your brain responsible for the “fight, flight, or freeze” response. This system might be triggered unnecessarily—like when a minor incident (such as being cut off in traffic) feels overwhelming because your body is reacting as if it were a life-threatening situation.
Regulating Your Nervous System:
By working directly with these deep-seated responses, BSP assists in regulating your nervous system, helping you to reduce overreactions that may stem from past trauma you aren't even consciously aware of.
The Core Philosophy:
If you can feel it, we can heal it!
This means that by addressing and processing the feelings stored in your body, healing can begin at the root of the issue, often without the need for extensive verbal processing.
